When Life is a Patchwork of Confusion!

When Life is a Patchwork of Confusion!

When life is a patchwork of confusion it can be an unpleasant place to be.  Which path should we take and what can we do to make life go smoothly and in the direction that we’d like it to go?  Well, as Forest Gump once said – life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.  In life its good to have a plan, but even with a menu for your chocolate it doesn’t always turn out how you planned it to.  Sometimes you get the orange creme instead of the coffee creme. If you don’t like either you need to do something differently!

At the end of confusion, usually comes clarity.  Confusion is an unpleasant state for many, especially if you are the type of person who likes to plan in minute detail or you like to know what will happen next.

My advice for anyone who doesn’t know what next, is to research all the options and then go with what you enjoy.  It will all work out in the end, and if it isn’t working out, its not the end.  Seek out activities that you enjoy, meet new people and tell them about what you like and what you are looking for.  The more you do this, the more you are likely to strike up a conversation with someone who has that unmet need too – so if you want to work behind a bar, if you talk to enough bar owners eventually you will find a bar owner who is looking for someone with exactly your skills and personality.  It might not be the first bar owner you find who has a vacancy, but eventually you will find the right place for you. (This is a very simplistic example but applies to almost every situation).

If you don’t know what the end point is, that’s ok.  You don’t have to know – explore what you love to do and eventually the fog will lift.

Not everyone feels comfortable talking to strangers, so start with your friends and get them to introduce you to their friends.

If you are young, it is totally normal to not know what career you want to have for the rest of your life.  That would be like asking you to choose a wife or husband forever, without having explored relationships with different people yet.  You have plenty of time to get to try new opportunities.
